802.3at & LLDP(MED) Technology : IEEE has been listening to the concerns that expressed by the PoE user community and is currently working on defining a new standard — often referred to as HiPoE, PoE+, or PoE Plus — that will support the needs of more advanced technologies. The foremost difference from the current standard is the proposed near-doubling of power that can be distributed over the network to enable devices that require more current to benefit from PoE. In particular, the new 802.3at specifications call for delivering 30 watts of power via two twisted pairs — a significant boost from the previous standard. Even going beyond 30 watts using all four twisted pairs has been discussed as a potential future revision on the new standard. Some of the other proposed improvements include backwards compatibility with 802.3af devices. 802.3at also proposes embedding intelligence via a newly defined data link layer (layer 2) protocol. This Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) will allow the power source equipment to discover devices on the network and communicate with those powered devices to enable dynamic allocation of power levels and even putting a device in
sleep mode.

Green Power Scheduling : Power schedule function is a great benefit to our earth and has contribution in making the planet greener by setting the power consumption schedule around the clock. The users can set the desired output power according to their day and night power policy. For example, the IR feature of IP camera only need to be power on at night time, thus users can set higher power output 30w from 18:00 PM~ 6:00
AM and lower the output to 15W from 6:00 AM ~ 18:00 PM.

Alive Checking Technology : ORing’s managed/lite-managed PoE Switch could be configured to monitor the real-time status of connected power devices (P.D.s). ORing’s managed/lite-managed PoE Switch could send alive-checking packets to assure the connected P.D.s are in working state. If the connected P.D.s fail to response, ORing’s managed/lite-managed PoE switch could reset the connected P.D.s to assure the reliability of the network.

Benefits : ORing's PoE switches could save the user's deployment cost by providing power source. In additional, the two enhanced features, alive checking and power scheduling, could make the network secure and easy to control the power consumption.
