Technology : PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is a network protocol for encapsulating Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) frames inside Ethernet frames. It is used mainly with DSL services where individual users connect to the xDSL modem over Ethernet. IDS series features PPPoE to build up a connection a network through xDSL modem from intranet to Internet without router.
DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server) is a method, protocol, or network service that provides the capability for a networked device using the Internet Protocol Suite, such as an IP router or computer system, to notify a domain name server to change, in real time (ad-hoc), the active DNS configuration of its configured hostnames, addresses or other information stored in DNS. When getting the connection through PPPoE and the IP address is floated, end users may not configure IDS. However, though DDNS method, it’s easy for different IP domain users to connect to IDS series device servers.
